FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Taipei – The HFX Taipei Forum will take place in Taiwan on February 20 and 21, 2025, bringing together leaders and experts from around the world to discuss global security, technological competition, Taiwan’s role in the democratic alliance, and information security. The forum aims to foster international cooperation and dialogue on these critical issues.

HFX is an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., dedicated to strengthening strategic cooperation among democratic nations worldwide. As a leading platform for dialogue on democracy and security, HFX continues to expand its global influence. Hosting the HFX Taipei Forum marks the first time HFX has held an event outside North America, symbolizing its growing international presence and highlighting Taiwan’s crucial role as a democracy in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as its contributions to global democracy and security.

HFX Taipei will feature distinguished Taiwanese guests, including Taiwan President Lai Ching-te, Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim, and former President Tsai Ing-wen. They will discuss Taiwan’s key role in global security, democracy, and regional cooperation, as well as exploring ways to strengthen Taiwan’s international partnerships and engagement.

With support from Robert Tsao, founder of United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), the forum will incorporate short film screenings, thematic discussions, and closed-door meetings. Key topics will include information security and geopolitical strategy, with in-depth discussions on how leading global technology powers will be shaping international political dynamics in future technological conflicts. HFX Taipei will also underline the essential role of democratic nations in maintaining regional stability and upholding democratic values. Participants will also be invited to join HFX’s traditional 5K Run on the second morning of the event and experience Taiwanese culture and cuisine.

HFX Taipei represents a milestone in HFX’s efforts to expand its global influence. The world is facing increasing challenges, and the forum will serve as a vital platform for leaders and experts to engage in meaningful exchanges and collaboration to further strengthen democracy and security worldwide.
