JOHN MCCAIN PRIZE FOR LEADERSHIP IN PUBLIC SERVICE

The John McCain Prize for Leadership in Public Service is presented annually to individuals or groups who have demonstrated uncommon leadership in the pursuit of human justice.

The Prize is based on the principles that animated John McCain’s entire life: unflinching support for human freedom, resolute determination to pursue democracy, opportunity and peace, immense courage confronting oppression and undemocratic regimes, celebration of the human spirit in overcoming adversity and honor in the pursuit of goals greater than one’s self.

The process to determine the annual recipient of The John McCain Prize for Leadership in Public Service is overseen by a selection committee made up of the HFX Board of Directors and President.

The selection committee considers extraordinary candidates for recognition throughout the year on an on-going basis.

The John McCain Prize for Leadership in Public Service is announced and presented on Saturday morning at the annual Halifax International Security Forum each November.
