Washington, DC – Fifteen-year-olds from around the world now have an extra 15 days to get their applications in for the global competition 15@15: Youth Building Democracy.

HFX announced yesterday an extension until September 30 to receive submissions. The 15@15 competition is organized to mark the 15th annual Halifax International Security Forum, taking place November 17-19 in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Launched in May, the 15@15 global competition is open to any individual born in 2008 and requires applicants to submit a 15-second video about one positive change they would like to see within the next 15 years that will make their world more secure.

15@15 introduces young people to HFX’s vital mission of strengthening strategic cooperation among the world’s democracies. The Forum invites more young leaders to add their voices to those who have already applied.

Halifax International Security Forum is the world’s most consequential annual meeting on democracy and global affairs. The Forum brings together political decision-makers, senior military officers and industry leaders from more than 80 democracies to address the world’s most pressing security and defence challenges.
