HFX ANNOUNCES MARCH PEACE WITH WOMEN FELLOWSHIP
March 7, 2022

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC – HFX today announced the rescheduled 2020 class of its landmark Peace With Women Fellowshipthat begins its program this week.

This year marks the first time in the Fellowship’s five-year history that it will host two Fellowship classes: the 2020 class in March and the 2022 class in October.

“Advancing women’s leadership in security is a strategic imperative for democratic nations,” said Peter Van Praagh, President of HFX.  “The invasion of Ukraine by Russia underscores now more than ever allied militaries must work closely together.  HFX is proud to contribute to this vital effort with the Peace With Women Fellowship to develop all their human resources to full capacity.  This year, we add four new nations and, for the third consecutive time, have all of the Five Eyes countries – the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand – participating in the Fellowship,” Van Praagh added.

The March cohort is composed of 12 women from 11 NATO member and partner countries.

The Peace With Women Fellowship is a three-week executive program for senior active-duty female military officers from NATO member and partner countries.  The Fellowship program begins March 9 and concludes on March 30.  Participants will visit Washington DC, Silicon Valley, Ottawa, and Toronto.

During the program, Fellows will meet with government officials, military leaders, and experts from a variety of fields as they travel through the political and technological capitals of the US and Canada.  The program is designed to deepen their understanding of NATO’s strategic challenges, as well as the cutting-edge technologies transforming the realities of national security.

Fellows from this class are also invited to participate in the 2022 Halifax International Security Forum from November 18-20, where they will be joined by the 2022 Fellowship class as well as Fellowship alumnae, further expanding the Fellowship’s global network of leaders.

The Peace With Women Fellowship is proud to be supported by Deloitte and Club HFX.
