HFX Announces Dates for 15th Anniversary Halifax International Security Forum

Washington, DC – HFX is proud to announce that its 15th anniversary Halifax International Security Forum will be held November 17-19, 2023 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Over the past 15 years, Halifax International Security Forum has become widely recognized as the world’s preeminent gathering for leaders committed to democratic principles.

Since November 2009, the Forum has hosted heads of government, ministers of defense and foreign affairs, legislators and decision-makers from militaries, multi-lateral organizations, the media and many sectors of international business, including infrastructure, energy, food and technology.

Canadian Minister of Defence Anita Anand hosted the November 2022 Forum and speakers included U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III, Estonian President Alar Karis and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“When democracies work together, there is no challenge that can’t be met,” said Peter Van Praagh, Founding President of HFX. “Meeting in Halifax each November is now a major part of the vital strategic cooperation among the world’s democracies.”
