October 24, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC–Halifax International Security Forum, North America’s leading foreign affairs and defense convener, today released the topical agenda for its annual conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, November 22-24.

Please see the agenda here.

For over a decade, Halifax International Security Forum’s agenda has gained a reputation as a prescient guide to key global security issues that the international community will address in the coming year.

“At our annual gathering, we bring together the leading actors and thinkers in international security from across the democratic world,” said Peter Van Praagh, President of Halifax International Security Forum.

“In this, our 11th year, the agenda will highlight the need for a coordinated strategic response among democratic allies to the challenge posed by China, the increasingly urgent problem of climate change, the security of our democratic systems from foreign interference, international law and order, inclusive security, and how the world is responding to American leadership.”

The Halifax International Security Forum is the only conference of its kind committed to strengthening strategic cooperation among democracies.

As is customary, the conference features a delegation from the United States Congress, as well as leaders in the United States military and wider security community. Internationally, joining them from more than 75 countries are ministers, experts, chiefs of defense staff, and top media personalities.

Halifax International Security Forum is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan organization based in Washington, DC. The Forum is made possible by generous support from its partners, including the Government of Canada and the Halifax Canada Club.
