Halifax International Security Forum Announces Participation of Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, United States, and Other Top Military Leaders at 2018 Forum

WASHINGTON, DC – General Joseph F. Dunford, Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, United States, will be attending this year’s Halifax International Security Forum and will speak at a public session on the morning of Saturday, November 17, Halifax International Security Forum announced Tuesday.

General Dunford will join his Canadian counterpart General Jonathan Vance and a host of senior military leaders from around the world at the three-day conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Halifax International Security Forum, which takes place from November 16-18, is North America’s leading foreign affairs and defense conference with participants in government, military, think tanks, business, and the media from over 70 countries.

“It is a great honor to be hosting General Dunford for the very first time at this our 10th anniversary Forum,” said Peter Van Praagh, President of Halifax International Security Forum.

Admiral Philip S. Davidson, Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command will also be attending his first Forum. Admiral Karl Schultz, a past participant of the Forum, will be attending this year in his new capacity as Commandant of the United States Coast Guard.

From NATO, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, Chairman of the Military Committee, and former Chief of the Defence Staff, British Armed Forces, will also be attending the Forum.

The Forum will also host General Micael Bydén, Supreme Commander, Swedish Armed Forces; Maj General Rocky Meade Chief of Defence Staff, Jamaica Defence Force; Lt General Rrahman Rama, Commander of Kosovo Security Force, Kosovo Security Force; Air Vice-Marshal Tony Davies, Vice Chief of Defence Force, New Zealand Defence Force; General Roble Arturo Granados Gallardo, Deputy Secretary of National Defense, Office for National Defence, Mexico; Vice Admiral Joachim Rühle, Deputy Inspector General of the Armed Forces, German Federal Ministry of Defense; Rear Admiral Henri Schricke, General Officer in Charge of International Military Affairs, French Forces Joint Staff; and General Vasile Toader, Deputy Chief of Defense for Operations and Training, Ministry of National Defense, Romania.
