Since 2009, HFX promotes greater understanding, builds trust and deepens ties through its unique and diverse international programming that includes the annual Halifax International Security Forum, Peace With Women Fellowship, 15@15: Youth Building Democracy, John McCain Prize for Leadership in Public Service, #StandTogetherOnChina and HFX Conversations.

What We Are Looking For

HFX is always looking for creative talent, including recent graduates with degrees in language, literature, philosophy, art and history.

 

Qualifications We Are Looking For:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong organizational abilities, ensuring attention to detail;
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills;
  • Ability to anticipate needs, identify challenges and propose solutions, proactively and without waiting for direction;
  • Comfortable completing tasks independently and with minimal supervision;
  • Motivated to take initiative;
  • Experience with project coordination and deadline management;
  • Passion for promoting democracy, opportunity and peace;
  • Bachelor’s degree in language, literature, philosophy, art, history or equivalent is required; an advanced degree is welcome.

 

Potential Responsibilities

  • Liaising with global leaders from government, military, civil society, private sector and media;
  • Managing event invitations, registrations and travel logistics;
  • Maintaining databases;
  • Drafting language for internal and external communications;
  • Initiating, supporting and managing programs;
  • Conducting research on global security issues.

Compensation and Benefits

For full-time employees, HFX offers an industry-leading compensation and benefits package and maintains a four-day workweek.

HFX works in-person in Washington, DC with no option for remote work.
