Alexandra Steiner

Alexandra Steiner is the Program Officer at the Halifax International Security Forum where she supports the development and management of the Forum. She is a Russia & Eurasia specialist with experience in democracy promotion and the civil society sector. She completed her Master’s degree in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies at Stanford University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor’s degree in Russian from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Alexandra previously implemented Eurasia programs at the International Republican Institute and the National Endowment for Democracy. She was a proud member of the Organizing Committee that formed the NED’s union with OPEIU Local 2. Alexandra is passionate about post-Soviet democratization, the Russian language, demand-driven international development, and the politics of decolonization in Central Asia.
