HFX is an independent non-governmental organization based in Washington, DC, dedicated to strengthening strategic cooperation among the world’s democracies. HFX is best known for its annual Halifax International Security Forum, recognized as the leading gathering of democratic leaders committed to global security and prosperity.
The Program Officer is responsible for supporting the overall coordination, development, and management of all internal and external HFX meetings, including the annual Halifax International Security Forum, a dynamic 3-day event bringing 300 leaders from over 70 countries that takes place each November in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The Program Officer works with and reports directly to the Program Manager and will assist with the participant invitation, RSVP, and travel arrangement processes. They will serve as the primary point of contact for the most senior participants, delegations, and partners to assist in their attendance at HFX events. The Program Officer will support the organization’s database management, ensuring quality control.
This position provides the opportunity to interact with a diverse array of senior government, military, business, media, and civil society leaders, as well as key partners and sponsors. As a member of a growing organization, the Program Officer will have opportunities to learn about global security issues, connect with like-minded organizations in Washington, DC, and contribute to other organizational initiatives as needed.
