Halifax International Security Forum Announces Dates of the 2019 Forum

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

17 January 2019

WASHINGTON, DC – Halifax International Security Forum announced today that the 2019 Forum will take place on November 22-24 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Hosted by Canada’s Minister of National Defence, and featuring defense ministers and senior military leaders from democratic nations as well as a bipartisan Congressional Delegation from the United States, the annual Forum brings together individuals who are on the ground facing consequential local threats, writers who challenge and influence the world’s thinking on security, and democratic decision-makers from over 90 countries.

“It is not unusual for the world’s democracies to face urgent challenges. What makes today’s urgent challenges different is that many of them come from within our own countries as well as from external actors,” said Peter Van Praagh, President of Halifax International Security Forum. “As the only international venue designed specifically for democratic leaders and opinion makers, Halifax makes a very significant impact toward meeting all challenges headed our way.”

Halifax International Security Forum is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan organization based in Washington, DC. The Forum is made possible by the generous support of its partners, including the Government of Canada and the Halifax Canada Club. The 10th annual Halifax International Security Forum took place November 16-18, 2018. For a recap of the 2018 Forum, please click here.
