Halifax International Security Forum Hosts Canadian Chief of the Defence Staff General J.H. Vance

WASHINGTON, DC—Halifax International Security Forum was pleased to host General J.H. Vance, Canadian Chief of the Defence Staff, on Wednesday, March 23 for a private, off-the-record briefing with members of the Halifax Agenda Working Group and other friends of the Forum.

The discussion marked the beginning of the 2016 Halifax Chat Series, a series of exclusive briefings by Halifax International Security Forum’s most senior participants to inform the Halifax Agenda Working Group on the issues that government and military leaders judge as the most relevant and urgent security threats that must be considered for the agenda of the 2016 November Forum.

General Vance, who spoke at the 2015 Halifax International Security Forum, most recently served as Commander of Canadian Joint Operations Command before taking the post of Chief of the Defence Staff in July 2015.

The 2016 Halifax International Security Forum will be held November 18-20 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
